  • Our Beginner classes are suitable for those who are completely new to ballet and have no prior experience. They are also great if you consider yourself a bit beyond Beginner but not yet ready for Intermediate level. These classes delve into the details and help you to develop a strong technical foundation for your practice. They are also perfect for those returning after a long break or injury or simply wanting a slower paced class and a more mindful practice.

Our Intermediate classes are suitable for those with prior experience of ballet. You may have completed graded or vocational work when younger or perhaps you worked your way up to higher level classes as an adult. These classes are designed to challenge you; we introduce longer and more complex combinations and choreography. Our Intermediate classes are closer to an advanced level than an Improver less. That being said, all of our classes are inclusive and friendly, if you want to have a go or take the leap to higher level classes, come along and try, you have nothing to lose! Our Intermediate students have a range of backgrounds and experiences - and all are welcome here, so you won't feel out of place.

  • It is best to wear comfortable clothing that allows you to move freely. There is absolutely no obligation to wear formal ballet attire. If it is your first class, bare feet or socks are fine. However, if you are a regular student, you will need to wear ballet shoes. Don’t forget a bottle of water!

  • We know it can be intimidating to join a new class for the first time - especially when it is ballet. Leave yourself plenty of time to arrive so that you are not late. Arriving early is also a great way to introduce yourself to other dancers in the class whilst warming up. If you have any injuries or health conditions, it is very important for you to let the teacher know at the beginning of the class. Wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. If you are looking for even more detail about what your first class will be like, check out our Blog: Everything you need to know before your first ballet class. In it we break down why Beginners Ballet classes usually feel closer to mixed ability than Beginner level, how the class is structured and why it's inevitable that you will feel completely confused on your first lesson!

  • Our class sizes are capped and upon booking, a space is reserved for you. As a small business we cannot afford to reimburse those who cannot attend the class on short notice. We hope you understand. If there are unforeseen circumstances and you are unable to attend, please contact us and we will provide you with a credit voucher.

  • We highly recommend you consult with your doctor or physician first to check if ballet is suitable for you. But rest assured, our classes are delivered in an inclusive manner; all students are welcome to opt out of certain exercises, to have a break at any point during the class or to modify exercises given their particular requirements. Several of our regular students are diagnosed with with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and EDS or are returning after an injury. We are mindful about making our classes a safe space; we encourage you to work at your own pace and to only participate in what is right for you.

  • Yes, subject to availability. Please click here to find out more and to contact us.

  • You will need access to some quiet space and a barre (or chair) for any of the ballet classes. For stretch and conditioning classes, it is useful to have a yoga mat. However, a towel or something to place on the floor is a perfectly fine substitute. We try to plan and deliver our online classes in such a way that everyone can participate, even if they do not have spacious rooms.
