This class combines the principles of classical and contemporary pilates to offer a unique, combined approach to increasing strength and active flexibility. We learn and experiment with exercises designed to address your unique imbalances and needs as a mover and dancer. The exercises provide a systemic, progressive approach to rewiring ineffective movement habits and poor posture.

Pilates is highly complementary to ballet; the conditioning exercises enable you to experience your fuller range of motion in a more supported way (either supine or prone). We will gradually progress this to standing postures, helping to instil new modes of moving. If you are feeling stuck or like you've hit a roadblock, this holistic, mindful approach can help you to access and activate your true range of motion in a safe and sustainable way. It is a great class for those returning to ballet after a long break or injury, or those simply wanting to explore and experientially deepen their movement practice.

Please note that anybody who signs up will receive the class recording, so you can still enrol even if you cannot join live. Recordings are available for 14 days.
